Danish brand Wheat was founded in 2002, when married couple Charlotte and Peter Galsgaard won the hearts of families with children through their beautiful designs. Their goal was to create a Danish brand offering children's fashion with a clear design identity and children at its centre. Charlotte and Peter wanted to create high-quality children's clothing using natural, durable materials made responsibly. Wheat is known for its strong Scandinavian design traditions, distinctive style and comfort, as well as a great fit that allows children to move freely when playing outdoors or testing their limits on the playground. They design beautiful clothing for boys and girls, from newborn size 50 up to size 152 and age 12. You will find a wide selection of outerwear, from snowsuits and thermal jackets to leggings and many other beautiful garments made from high-quality materials.

Organic and responsible designs

Wheat is dedicated to minimising the clothing industry's negative impact on our planet. This is why you will find their lovely cotton products made from organic materials that are soft to wear and better for the environment. This also means your child can enjoy the beautiful clothing for longer, and when they outgrow it, the colours and shape will still look great. You can therefore pass on the lovely bodysuits, leggings or other beautiful garments to younger siblings or someone else who could use a little extra for their wardrobe. In addition to using organic, hard-wearing cotton and recycled materials wherever possible in their products, the brand is also working towards creating a 100% CO2-neutral office. Solar panels can therefore be found on the roof of their office.

Designed to delight parents too

Wheat knows that it is mum and dad who buy clothes for their children. So, although children are their target audience, the clothing is also designed to appeal to parents. They create collections that inspire parents with muted, calm colours while also being loved by children because they are comfortable to wear.

You will find their designs in many beautiful colours, from brown and beige to light green and pastel purple. What all their designs have in common, however, is their minimalist look and muted colour palette without too much visual noise—often exactly what parents look for when choosing their little ones' next outerwear. Wheat has been around for more than 20 years and remains a much-loved brand in Denmark and across the world. Children have different head circumferences - choose one size up if your child has a slightly larger head than their peers.

Shoes and growth allowance

  • Growth allowance: approx. 1.5 cm for regular shoes.
  • Growth allowance: approx. 1.0 cm for ballerina or first-walker shoes.

Example: If the foot measures 15.0 cm, choose a shoe with an inner length of approx. 16.5 cm.

Socks and tights

Socks and tights may shrink slightly in the wash - choose one size up if in doubt.
