Bedtime stories are a wonderful bedtime ritual
Reading aloud helps support your child's cognitive and intellectual development. Reading to children is not only a lovely way to end the day, spending time together with a good bedtime story. It also teaches children to listen, gives them new knowledge and introduces them to new words. Reading aloud also challenges your child's understanding and knowledge of the world.
And honestly, is there anything cosier than ending your child's day in bed with a good bedtime story? No one says you have to read an entire novel – one chapter or whatever you and your child feel like is just fine. Many children love it when their parents make time to read to them, making it a wonderful part of the bedtime routine.
If you are looking for a good duvet and pillow for children or some new children's bedding, you can of course find those in our shop too. The scent of freshly washed bedding as you settle down to read is simply wonderful.

Books for children aged 3 and over
“If I Had a Dinosaur”. Imagine if your child had a dinosaur! Their very own giant friend that they could ride or go swimming with. It would also be wonderful to cuddle, and even though it has huge, sharp teeth, they are friendly enough. Imagine having your very own dinosaur!
This is also the beginning of a new book series for children aged three to six, which has already become a huge hit in the UK. More books are on the way, including stories about an octopus and a sloth.
Books for children aged 5 and over about exciting dinosaurs
Do you have a five-year-old who simply loves everything to do with dinosaurs? Perhaps they have the entire dinosaur collection from Schleich, cool children's T-shirts, fun children's shorts with dinosaur designs from brands such as Molo and Name It, and perhaps even cool dinosaur bedding from Liewood?

Forlaget Mammut has created several exciting educational books about animals, including Dinosaurium from the Welcome to the Museum series. It offers the perfect opportunity to travel back in time, learn about the history of dinosaurs and discover the many different species. Perhaps you think you are very good at reading aloud, but are you just as confident when it comes to pronouncing Tyrannosaurus rex, Patagotitan mayorum, Allosaurus, Baryonyx, Deinonychus, Dilophosaurus and many more? We certainly find ourselves being put to the test.
Dinosaurium is a beautiful, large-format children's reference book filled with wonderful illustrations of dinosaurs, from small, strange omnivores to gigantic herbivores and fierce predators. Although the book has no recommended age, you can start reading it when your child is ready for longer stories. Alternatively, your two- or three-year-old can enjoy looking at all the beautiful pictures. Just be careful that their one-year-old sibling does not get too close. The book is so beautiful that it would be a shame if little curious fingers managed to tear out a page.

Unicorn books for children
No one is saying that dinosaurs and unicorns are strictly for one gender or another. Nevertheless, many children love dinosaurs, while others adore unicorns. If you have a child at home who sees unicorns everywhere, they can also dream of magical unicorn adventures.
At House of Kids, you will find the book “If I Had a Unicorn” – your child's very own unicorn and magical best friend, who loves baking and throwing colours and glitter around. The unicorn book is recommended for children aged 3 to 6, but there is nothing wrong with a two-year-old younger sibling or an eight-year-old older sibling joining in.

Babies can also enjoy books, but it is worth considering which kind of book you place in your baby's hands. For a baby's first book, we recommend a soft book. Firstly, it has no sharp edges. Secondly, little fingers cannot hold a heavy book, and thirdly, there are no pages for your baby to tear out.
