Softshell is water-repellent and windproof, making it ideal for breezy days with light showers. For very wet days, a rain jacket is of course essential, as it is the only type that is fully waterproof. Teddy jackets are wonderfully warm and comfortable to wear, but are best suited to cold days without rain or strong winds. Thermal jackets are windproof and lightly padded. They can also be water-repellent, making them a great jacket to have in your child's wardrobe. Lightweight summer jackets are made from thin fabric and are also available in water-repellent and windproof styles. When the difficult months of changeable weather are over, temperatures begin to drop and frost sets in, it's time to bring out the winter jacket. If you're investing in a new winter jacket, pay attention to breathability and water column ratings. As a general rule of thumb, we recommend a water column rating of 5,000 mm or more and breathability of 2,000 g/m² or higher.
