Cocoon Duvets

Cocoon duvets in several sizes

At House of Kids, you will find all three of Cocoon's duvet collections: Cocoon Organic Kapok, Cocoon Merino Wool and Cocoon Amazing Maize. All the duvets are covered in 100% organic cotton, while the filling depends on the collection you choose. The filling in the Amazing Maize collection is made from corn fibres. This 100% recyclable material is breathable, temperature-regulating, allergy-friendly and completely vegan. Cocoon Merino Wool is made from GOTS-certified merino wool from European sheep. Wool is an excellent material for creating a comfortable sleeping environment for your child. As a natural material, wool helps regulate your child's temperature while they sleep. In simple terms, wool helps draw heat away from your child when they get too warm at night, while also retaining warmth if they become cold. The final option is the kapok duvet, which is filled with pure kapok – a 100% natural and organic material. Kapok's lightweight structure does not absorb water, helping to draw moisture away from your child while making it difficult for dust mites to live in the duvet. This is because dust mites need water to thrive. Kapok is so light that it consists of up to 80% air, making it eight times lighter than cotton. You will find a wide selection of beautifully soft duvets, each with its own unique qualities. If you have a younger child, we recommend using one of the practical waterproof sheets for their bed. You can find them in all sizes here.

When should my child move to a larger duvet?

It is perfectly natural for the first duvet you buy for your little baby to be a baby duvet. After that, however, it can be difficult to decide when it is time to move on to a junior duvet or an adult-sized duvet. A baby duvet measures 70 x 100 cm and is the first duvet your child will use. The junior size is the next step and measures 100 x 140 cm. You should generally switch to this size when your child is around 90 cm tall. A useful rule of thumb is that your child should be able to kick the duvet off by themselves before moving to a larger size. An adult duvet measures 140 x 200 cm, and it is a good idea to move up from a junior duvet when your child is around 120 cm tall. Every child is different, of course, but it is usually best to wait until your child is outgrowing their current duvet so they do not become completely lost under a much larger one. We also have lovely, soft bedding for both your own and your child's new duvets here.
